Основные направления научных исследований:

  • Мониторинг фитосанитарного состояния виноградных насаждений;
  • Изучение особенностей развития болезней (черная пятнистость, инфекционное усыхание, эутипоз, эска, оидиум, серая гниль и др.), вредителей (гроздевая листовертка, клещи, почвенные вредители и др.) винограда, разработка системы мер борьбы с ними;
  • Разработка технологий защиты виноградного посадочного материала;
  • Оценка эффективности средств защиты винограда (фунгицидов, инсектицидов, акарицидов, биопрепаратов, гормональных препаратов и др.) от болезней и вредителей;
  • Изучение биологической эффективности средств защиты растений.

  • Определение причин угнетения и гибели растений методами микробиологических посевов, влажной камеры, микроскопирования;
  • Изучение биофенологии гроздевой листовертки, динамики развития клещей, филлоксеры, грибных заболеваний;
  • Разработка годовых и краткосрочных прогнозов развития патогенных организмов;
  • Определение вредителей и болезней виноградных насаждений и посадочного материала;

MOLECULAR GENETICS

Main research areas:

  • grape molecular genetic polymorphism evaluation for generative and clonal selection;
  • DNA marker system for the varietal genotypes identification (wine, table varieties and rootstocks) and its clones;
  • method of grape microsatellite loci polymorphism analysis to differentiate grape varieties and clones on the base of genetic relationships.

Main achievements:

  • effective DNA marker system to valuate genetic diversity of grape varieties and clones has been selected;
  • compiling of genotypic formulas (DNA-passports) for microsatellite loci and marker-assisted selection for seedlessness using microsatellite locus p3_VvAGL11 has been implemented into breeding practice;
  • methodological principles of parental pairs selection by analysis of grapevine genetic relationships by DNA analysis has been elaborated.

Prospective research:

  • grape quality and resistance characteristics marking to accelerate breeding process.

PLANT PROTECTION

Main research areas:

  • phytosanitary state monitoring of southern Ukraine and Transcarpathia vineyards, and develop the recommendations for the vineyards protection;
  • study of morphology, ways of spread, area, harmfulness the most dangerous and new fungal diseases in the vineyards;
  • study of changes in the development of the most harmful pests, new vineyards pesta and useful entomo- and akarofauna, establishment possibilities management of number the harmful objects by trophic relationships in vineyards;
  • study of vineyards flora weed spread and development the protective measures aganist harmful plants;
  • determine the effectiveness of new plant protection, the optimal timing of their application, phytotoxicity and impact on quantity and grape production quality;
  • theoretical substantiation of improvement environmentally-safe technology of vineyards protection for minimize pesticide load on the environment and reduce the spread of food products dangerous to life and health.

The main achievements:

  • development the annual forecasts of phytosanitary state of Ukraine vineyards and recommendations for plant protection;
  • integrated environmentally-safe system for vineyards protection from pests and diseases;
  • study the soil pests and development the preventive measures;
  • improvement the testing methods of fungicides, insecticides (acaricides), herbicides, biologics, growth regulators;
  • edition the annual scientific and practical publication “Forecast of Ukraine agrocenosis phytosanitary state and recommendations for plant protection”, scientific and practical publication “Atlas of grape’s disease and pests” (2009), “Recommendations for the control of diseases and pests of fruit-bearing vineyards” (2010, 2011), “Diseases and pests of grapes” (2011), “Diseases, pests and weeds of vineyards” (2013), “Atlas of weed flora of vineyards” (2013).

Offers to production:

  • monitoring of vineyards phytosanitary state and provide relevant information to develop systems for vineyards protection;
  • study of Lobesia botrana biophenology and major pests to determine the timing of protective measures;
  • determine the causes of grape inhibition or destruction by microbiological methods and visual surveys;
  • identification the diseases and pests of planting material;
  • development the short-term and annual forecasts for harmful objects in the vineyards to prevent their development;
